The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has lifted the curfew imposed on Bole and surrounding communities in the Savannah Region, citing significant improvements in the security situation.
In a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, the government said the decision follows a comprehensive security review and reports from local authorities indicating sustained calm and cooperation among residents.
The curfew was initially imposed due to tensions and sporadic violence that threatened peace in the area. However, according to Minister Mohammed-Mubarak, enhanced security operations, community engagement, and collaboration with traditional leaders have helped restore normalcy.
He commended the security agencies for their continuous vigilance and urged residents to maintain the peace and support ongoing conflict-prevention efforts. The Minister also encouraged community leaders to continue dialogue and promote unity to prevent any recurrence of disturbances.
Despite lifting the curfew, the Ministry emphasized that security agencies will continue monitoring the area closely to ensure lasting stability.
More updates are expected as authorities implement additional measures to consolidate peace in Bole.
