New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has cautioned Ghanaians against supporting any political candidate who believes the presidency is an entitlement rather than a responsibility earned through service.
Speaking at a political engagement as part of his campaign activities, Mr. Agyapong urged voters to critically assess the mindset and track record of individuals seeking the highest office in the country.
Do not vote for a candidate who thinks it’s his right to be President of Ghana, he stated.
The outspoken lawmaker emphasized that leadership must be grounded in humility, accountability, and respect for democratic choice, rather than a sense of entitlement or privilege.
Mr. Agyapong, who is seeking the NPP’s presidential nomination, said Ghana’s democracy thrives when leaders are chosen based on competence, integrity, and commitment to national development.
His comments are expected to intensify internal party debate as the NPP’s flagbearer race gathers momentum ahead of the next general elections.
