Seven people have sustained injuries following sporadic gunshots near the Central Mosque in Ho, with police confirming the arrest of 15 suspects in connection with the incident.
The shooting occurred on Friday, December 26, 2025, during a period of heightened tension in parts of the Ho Zongo community. Victims were rushed to nearby health facilities, where they are receiving medical attention. Their conditions are reported to be stable.
Security forces swiftly moved into the area, dispersing crowds and conducting operations that led to the recovery of spent ammunition. The police say the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to identify those directly involved in the violence.
Authorities have assured the public that calm has been largely restored, although security presence remains heightened around the Central Mosque and surrounding neighbourhoods.
The police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring peace in Ho and have warned that anyone found engaging in acts that threaten public safety will be dealt with according to the law.
