Over 6,000 Newly Recruited Nurses Receive Salaries — Health Ministry

The Ministry of Health has announced that more than 6,000 newly recruited nurses have received their salaries, part of the 13,500 nurses engaged nationwide. The Ministry says all remaining administrative issues with the recruitment process are being resolved.

It also commended newly posted medical officers who have reported to their duty stations and gave those yet to report until December 12, 2025, to do so. The Ministry noted that the postings are not punitive but necessary for fair distribution of health workers across the country.

In a statement signed by spokesperson Tony Goodman, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to providing incentives to encourage medical officers to accept postings in rural and underserved areas. It also urged MMDCEs to provide accommodation and transport support.

The Ministry added that no changes will be made to the recent postings and assured the public of efforts to strengthen the health workforce for quality healthcare delivery nationwide.
