Ghana Not Included in US Green Card Review – Ablakwa Sets the Record Straight

In the midst of rising speculation and fear among Ghanaians about a possible United States review of its Green Card programme, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has stepped forward with a firm clarification: Ghana is not on the list of countries affected. For days, social media has been buzzing with claims that the US government was tightening its immigration rules and that Ghanaian applicants could be excluded from future Green Card opportunities. But according to Ablakwa, those reports are misleading, inaccurate, and should be ignored.

What Ablakwa Actually Said

In a post that quickly went viral, the outspoken legislator explained that the US review is focused on specific countries with security-related concerns  and Ghana is not part of that conversation.

He urged Ghanaians to rely on official, credible updates from the US State Department and Ghana’s Foreign Ministry instead of online rumours designed to create unnecessary panic.
