DVLA Introduces New Embossed Number Plates to Curb Fraud

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced the introduction of newly embossed vehicle number plates aimed at strengthening security and reducing vehicle-related fraud.

According to the Authority, the new number plates can only be produced by authorized DVLA officials and will become unusable if tampered with or damaged. The move is part of broader reforms to improve vehicle identification and enhance road safety.

DVLA officials say the upgraded plates are designed to make duplication difficult while ensuring easy verification by law enforcement agencies.

The Authority has urged vehicle owners to comply with the new system when it is fully rolled out, assuring the public of a smooth transition process.
