A road accident occurred this evening, around 8:17 pm, at Ogome in Somanya, after a heavy-duty tipper truck overturned along the roadside, causing temporary disruption to traffic.
According to the driver, the incident happened when one of the front tyres suddenly burst, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. With little room to stabilize the truck, it veered off its lane and overturned.
Eyewitnesses rushed to the scene to assist the driver and check for any injuries. Fortunately, no serious casualties have been reported at this time.
The overturned truck partially blocked the roadway, leading to slow traffic as motorists tried to navigate around the area. Emergency responders and police are expected to move in to secure the scene and begin investigations to confirm the cause and assess the extent of the damage.
Drivers using the Somanya–Agomanya road are advised to exercise caution while passing the area as recovery efforts continue.
