Former Offinso North parliamentary candidate aspirant, Nana Frimpong, is in critical condition following a serious road accident that occurred while he was returning from an event in Japeikrom.
The incident happened along the Bechem–Kumasi stretch, where he reportedly had to take sudden evasive action to avoid a potential head-on collision with an oncoming truck. According to preliminary information, the truck is said to have veered into his lane, allegedly while trying to avoid potholes on the deteriorated road surface.
In an effort to prevent the crash, Nana Frimpong swerved sharply, causing his vehicle to hit a roadside object before veering off into a nearby bush. The impact left the vehicle severely damaged.
He sustained serious injuries and was quickly rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital emergency unit, where he is currently receiving intensive medical attention.
Authorities are expected to conduct further investigations to determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
